About Me

I am an independent piano teacher in Freehold, NJ and teach out of my home studio.  Private lessons are available for students age 6 to adult.  The focus of my teaching is to inspire the student to learn good technique, theory, and listening skills as they learn to play the piano and expand their knowledge of music.  Playing the piano is a skill that is rewarding and enriching to students of any age.

My background includes piano studies with Jean Graham and Ubaldo Diaz-Acosta at the Manhattan School of Music, Pre-College Division (1980–1988).  I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a Minor in Music from Barnard College, Columbia University (1992) and received my Certificate in Piano Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College, Rider University (2012).  I continued piano studies with Lillian Livingston after finishing the program at Westminster Choir College.  I accompanied school musical productions (Two by Two, SING!, Godspell) during my middle school, high school and college years and played piano as a member of my church’s worship team from 1988 to 2001.  I accompanied the Freehold Township High School Chorus in their winter concert (2015).  Currently, I am a member of the MTNA, NJMTA, and Cecilian Music Club of Freehold.
